Nov 7 – At the first court hearing, Judge Janice Stewart releases Aguirre on his own recognizance. Trial date is set for January 13, 2015. He is released from Multnomah County Justice Center at 10 pm.

Nov 6 – Aguirre leaves sanctuary to attend court hearing at Clackamas County Circuit Court, where he was accepted into the diversion program and was arrested by sheriffs through a federal warrant on an illegal re-entry charge

  • October 22, 2014USCIS Cancels Francisco’s fingerprint appointment, about 100 people show up at USCIS office to demand answers and immediate rescheduling of the appointment (Click here to see photos and final press release)
  • October 20, 2014 – Aguirre and Augustana hosts Salvadoran Congresswoman for lunch in her first Oregon stop
  • October 13, 2014 – Francisco narrates Cornerstone Chorale and Brass Benefit Concert, an evening of social justice music, spoken word service at Augustana
  • October 10, 2014 – United with Francisco delivers a copy of NDLON’s report, “Destructive Delay,” to the Portland Field Office of ICE
  • October 8, 2014 – NDLON releases report, “Destructive Delay,” including Francisco’s story
  • October 5, 2014 – Francisco hosts the Blessing of the Animals at Augustana
  • September 30, 2014 – Interfaith Service draws hundreds of faith leaders and community supporters to Augustana to show support for Aguirre’s right to remain in Portland with his family, including support from the entire Portland City Council and the City of Portland Human Rights Commission
  • September 23, 2014 – Mayor Charlie Hales announces support for Aguirre to media
  • September 19, 2014 – ICE agents appear at the door of Francisco’s house about 6:15 am, Francisco is moved to sanctuary, emergency press conference at Augustana
