After years of transition, multiple relocations, and instability, we are ready to realize our dream. Day laborers have led the organization for 23 years and have worked collectively with staff to improve working conditions and protect civil rights.

Come celebrate all of Voz’s impactful and unique accomplishments. Here are just a few highlights from the last year:
- In 2022, Voz connected 195 individual workers to over 2,622 jobs. Together, Voz workers earned nearly half a million dollars in wages.
- In partnership with the Oregon Health Authority, Voz distributed $50,000 to Day Laborers for housing and utilities assistance. With this support, members were able to focus on economic stability and not worry about housing insecurity.
- We have a home (3575 NE Broadway St, Portland, OR 97232)! After two years of multiple traumatic relocations, we have a new Center with ample space for Day Laborers to wait for work with a large classroom for folks to participate in skill-building classes, leadership development, and workforce training.
- In our monthly assembly, Voz workers organized collectively to develop the Fondo Jornalero, or Day Laborer Fund. This fund is a safety net that workers can access in case of emergencies such as job site injuries, medical emergencies, maternity or paternity leave, and more. All Voz members contribute each month to this fund to support their fellow workers and $5,545.00 were distributed to more than 20 workers in need.
