Unidos con Marcos!

Voz supports the right of Marcos Baltazar to remain united with his family and community! Today (Aug. 22nd), Marcos and his son were detained by ICE during a routine check-in, despite Marcos complying with his check-ins, despite the positive contributions that Marcos gives to our communities

Marcos Baltazar is a board member at Adelante Alabama Worker Center, a workers’ rights activist as part of the National Day Laborer Organizing Network, a single father, and a widow, who is strong and humble. 

Marcos came to the United States because the difficult economic and social circumstances that led to his wife’s death during the birth of their son. While in the US, Marcos has valiantly fought against wage theft in Alabama, and has won. 

Today, Marcos and his son were detained by ICE during a routine check-in, despite Marcos complying with his check-ins, despite the positive contributions that Marcos gives to our communities. Voz calls on our community to stand with Marcos and say #Not1More, not one more member of our community targeted and snatched from their family.
