Starting June 1st, all jobs dispatched through the Voz Worker Center will offer a new minimum wage of $22 per hour.
This is a decision that was made by workers, for workers.
At Voz, workers make decisions about how we operate the Worker Center and what priorities we set as an organization. Through our monthly asamblea (assembly), day laborers come together to discuss wages, workplace conditions, and the direction of our programs. The new wage minimum is a direct result of this democratic process - one that reflects the real cost of living and the real value of the labor our members provide.
This change is about more than just numbers - it’s about dignity, respect, and justice. Our members show up every day with skill, care, and commitment. They build, repair, clean, plant, and restore. Their work keeps communities running, and it deserves fair compensation.
We know that the economy is changing. We’re all feeling the strain of inflation and instability. But fair wages aren’t just a cost, they’re an investment in strong, healthy, and stable communities. When workers earn a living wage, everyone benefits: families, neighborhoods, and local businesses.
Thank you to everyone who continues to support this powerful model - one where workers are leaders, and justice is a shared responsibility.
Solo el pueblo salva al pueblo.
Only the people can save the people.
