Meet Sergio! Sergio is originally from Toluca, Mexico, and has experience working in machining, landscaping, and concrete finishing. He is a dedicated leader in the community and has been a member of our Day Laborer Committee since 2019. Sergio previously served as the Finance representative and was recently elected by his compañeros as the Vice-President of the Committee!

Sergio shares, "Voz is a lifesaver for many people who need help - people who are immigrants, who don’t have families, who don’t have anywhere else to go. Voz supports them, helps orient them, and helps them look for work opportunities and trainings. With Voz, you feel that you aren’t alone, and that you have a family and a community.”

“Voz, for me, was like una luz de esperanza when I most needed help. Not only has Voz provided me with a community and helped me find work, but when I was at risk for deportation, Voz also helped me find the legal assistance that I needed to apply for a U-Visa.

I think that the community should continue to support Voz because it not only helps the organization but also brings happiness to many people who are in pursuit of the American dream."
